About Us

History

Marion Allford Associates (MAA) was founded in 1990 by Marion Allford, after her role as Director of the highly successful "Wishing Well Appeal" for Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital, which raised £84 million.

Today, we offer charities and not-for-profit organisations high-quality consultancy services in fundraising, strategic management, resource management, marketing, public relations and executive recruitment.

During its 21 years of steady growth, MAA and its consultants have advised a wide range of charities and not-for-profit organisations throughout Britain and worldwide. The types of causes have included hospitals, medical research, education, health, children, youth, the elderly, heritage, the arts, conservation and housing.

Our main office is in London, but we have Associates based throughout the UK and South Africa. We are able to provide both local and national knowledge to clients, depending on their requirements.

Mission

We seek to build on the skills and vision of our clients to help them fulfill their goals and maximise the impact of their services to their beneficiaries, users and other stakeholders, whilst making the best use of their scarce resources. We pride ourselves on offering a quality of service which at least matches (and we believe exceeds) that of major consulting firms, but at a fraction of the cost.

Philosophies and Values

The following philosophies and values are central to our work:

  • We believe that the needs of the charities’ beneficiaries are paramount and recognise that fundraising is the means, not the end itself.
  • We aim to build a mutually beneficial partnership with our charity clients, based on respect and trust.
  • We appreciate the unique role and significance of each charity. As a result, our services are tailored to meet the individual requirements of the charity client.
  • We abide by the relevant legislation and the Codes of Practice issued by the Institute of Fundraising and the Association of Fundraising Consultants.
